Adarsh Soni, Chairman

B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) – IIT, Delhi; MBA- FMS, Delhi University

He superannuated from EIL as Director (Technical) in 2004 after serving at various positions over the period 1968 to 2004. Thereafter, he worked in different capacities in various companies like Punj Llyod Ltd [President (EPC-Power, Oil & Gas)], MRPL/ONGC [Associate President / Sr. Advisor] etc. He has wide experience in the area of Hydrocarbon Industry covering oil refining, petrochemicals, gas processing, fertilisers, etc., in services including DFRs, Technology Selection, EPC Execution, Detailed Engineering, Project Managmenet, etc. Presently working as Senior President of Kamal Engineering Corporation and as Independent Oil & Gas Industry Consultant.

D.P. Gupta, Director

B. Tech. (Industrial Engineering) – Punjab Regional College, Chandigarh; Post Graduate Degree in Business Management – AIMA

He has over 45 years’ experience as a professional consultant in the engineering industry, covering both technical and market research studies, with planning and techno-commercial appraisal of projects. As Chief (Projects and Economic Development) at the National Industrial Development Corporation Ltd., New Delhi he led a group of industrial economists and engineers in preparation of techno-economic feasibility studies, modernization studies for large and medium scale industries. At IDS, his major assignments in the relevant field have been for reputed companies like Tata Steel, SAIL, NALCO, Kalyani Steels, Modella Steels, Prakash Industries etc. He has worked as a consultant to the UNDP, Asian Development Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat for regional development studies in Asia and Africa. During his tenure, he has undertaken both quantitative and qualitative research projects with a focus on end-users.

Niranjan Raje, Director

Niranjan Raje, B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering (University of Bombay); M.Sc. in Engineering (The University of Leeds, UK).

After post graduation, Mr. Raje joined the British Petroleum Co. U.K at London for some time and returned to India to join the Indian Oil Corporation’s R & D Division in 1972, when it was incepted. He superannuated in 2005 as Director R&D as well as a member of Indian Oil’s Board. He has worked in various capacities and various fields, as Head of Lubricants Technology, to Executive Director in charge of Fuels, Emissions and Alternates Fuels. Mr. Raje has over 35 years of Experience and has worked on various important projects on fuels quality, Auto emissions and Alternative fuels initiated by various Govt. agencies / ministries such as The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Ministry of Environment, Central Pollution Control Board etc. Mr. Raje has published over 50 research papers in reputed Indian and international journals/ publications and has over 40 National & International patents including US patents. He has also been recipient of several awards including the Prestigious Department of Science & Technology (DST Govt. of India) award from the President of India in 2004. Currently, he is a member of Expert Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India and also a member of Environment Pollution (Prevention & control) Authority of Govt. of India- a body established to advise the Supreme Court of India on matters relating to environmental pollution.

M.K. Joshi, Director

B. Tech (Chemical Engineering) – IIT, Kanpur

Mr MK Joshi graduated in Chemical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1972 and joined Engineers India Limited (EIL) immediately thereafter. He worked at EIL till his superannuation in July 2010, at which time he was Director (Technical), a position that he had held since January 2005. During his tenure at EIL, he was actively associated in activities from concept to commissioning for various projects in the Hydrocarbon Processing Sector

He has had extensive exposure to a wide range of technologies from major overseas process licensors and this has helped to identify areas where indigenous capabilities can be developed, so that repetitive technology import can be reduced. He was directly involved in a large number of grass root and brown field projects in the oil and gas sectors and had the direct responsibility for the design of process units that were set up for the first time in India using in-house expertise.

His current engagements include:

In addition, he is actively involved in providing faculty support for training programmes intended for fresh graduates or refresher programmes for mid level engineers, besides providing specialist support to interview panels in different organizations, including EIL.

Rekha Misra, Executive Director

M. TECH. (Polymer Science & Technology) – IIT, DELHI

She is a life member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers. She has written articles in technical journals. She has been a speaker at Asian Petrochemical Industry Conference. She has over 15 years of oil & gas industry experience in the various areas including polymers, chemicals and petrochemicals for techno-economic feasibility studies, market research studies, refinery and port terminal studies. She has worked in the field of engineering plastics, commodity plastics, synthetic rubbers, bulk chemicals and petrochemicals and inorganic chemicals. Closely focusing on end-user markets and consumers, she has been instrumental many-a-times in conveying the voice / grievances of small / medium consumers to the manufacturers thereby helping them in formulating most suitable marketing strategies for re-positioning of their products in the market.

M.P. Singh, US Representative

B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) – IIT Kanpur; MS (Mechanical Engineering) – Case Western Reserve University USA; MBA – University of Illinoise, USA

Mr. M P Singh has worked at several positions including Managing Director – Asia Pacific for Reliance Electric Co. (now ABB). Starting as a pioneer in Asia-Pacific, he created a highly profitable business with explosive growth, built an outstanding management team and developed new core competencies. He started operations in Australia, China, India, and Japan and created a Center for Engineering Excellence in Bangalore, India. Presently, apart from his other independent ventures, he represents IDS in United States of America.

Madhu Krishna, Vice-Chairperson

M.A (Social Science) – Delhi University

She has over 25 years of experience in development and consulting for industry in India and abroad. Key areas of her experience include sector appraisals, energy conservation, industrial safety & environment improvement, and business intelligence. She has over 10 years of experience in strategy and project management for international development agencies such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Shambhavi Patil, Senior Consultant

M.A. (Operations Research) – Delhi University; Diploma In Consultancy- The Consultancy Development Center, New Delhi.

She has over 20 years’ experience and has been associated with several projects in the field of chemicals, petrochemicals, consumer products, automobiles and other specialized industries. Based in Mumbai, she covers the Western Zone for IDS.
