Global Toluene Diphenyl Diisocyanate Market Overview

Toluene Di Isocyanate (TDI) is a type of aromatic diisocyanate. It is produced by nitration of toluene using nitric acid to produce dinitrotoluene. Dinitrotolune is further hydrogenated to toluene diamine. The toluene diamine further is dissolved in a solvent and reacted with phosgene gas to produce a crude TDI solution.

Global Toluene Diphenyl Diisocyanate market size will increase US$ 11 billion from 2018 to US$ 16 billion in 2023, at a CAGR of 8% during the forecast period.

It is used to produce polyurethanes, primarily for flexible foam applications including furniture, bedding and carpet underlay, as well as packaging applications. TDI is also used in the production of coatings, sealants, adhesives and elastomers.

China is the largest producing region of TDI followed by Europe and North-East Asia. Although being largest production in China, China has the largest demand for TDI in the world followed by Europe and North America.

Covestro is the largest manufacturer of TDI. Other major players are BASF, Wanhua Chemicals, Borsod Chemical, Sadara Chemical, etc.

This report covers the global scenario on TDI Industry, Region-wise Supply Demand Analysis and Future Demand Projections for Africa, South America, North America, Indian Subcontinent, North East Asia, China, South East Asia, Middle East, Europe and Australia. For the Indian scenario, this report covers major producers, Supply, Demand, Market Drivers and Future Projection.
