Global Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) Market Overview

Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is an organic compound with the formula C4H6O2. It is produced by acetoxylation of ethylene in the presence of alumina or silica-supported palladium catalyst. This is a vapor phase chemical reaction.

The Global VAM volume was valued at US$ 8.1 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach US$ 10 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 4.2% during the forecast period.

Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) is the largest VAM consuming sector which is mainly used in adhesives as it has good adhesion properties to a number of substrates including paper, wood, plastic films and metals.VAM is also produced on a large scale for the production of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVOH) which is consumed in adhesives, textiles; packaging films etc. Around 80% of VAM is used for the production of PVA and PVOH.

China is the largest producer as well as consumer of VAM followed by North-East Asia and North America. Europe is the largest exporting as well as importing region followed by South East Asia and North America.

Major manufacturers of VAM are Dairen Chemical, Sichuan vinylon Works, Celanese, Inner Mongolia Mengwie Technology Co. Ltd, Sinopec Great Wall Energy and Chemical, LyondellBasell, DowDuPont, Kuraray, Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) etc.

This report covers the global scenario on VAM Industry, Region-wise Supply Demand Analysis and Future Demand Projections for Africa, South America, North America, Indian Subcontinent, North East Asia, China, South East Asia, Middle East, Europe and Australia.
